Vocational training

In Würzburg, industrial and technical training is conducted in our own vocational school, a state-approved private school under the supervision of the regional authorities of the Unterfranken district. Examinations and certificates are fully equivalent with those of public-run schools. This means that trainees are exempted from the general obligation to attend a public vocational training facility. The final examinations are conducted by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), which then issues a state-recognised certificate of qualification.

Commercial training is provided in the administrative departments of Koenig & Bauer AG in conjunction with the vocational schools in Würzburg and Kitzingen. We offer you a varied training experience in numerous different departments at our Würzburg location. Through separate periods spent in the purchasing, accounting and marketing departments, for example, you gain close-up insights into the whole company.

In Radebeul, the majority of the industrial and technical training is conducted in our well-appointed training workshop. From the second training year onwards, you will already be entrusted with tasks in the assembly and machining areas of our production centre. In this way, you are directly involved in the manufacturing of our sheetfed offset printing presses. The theoretical components of the training are completed at the designated municipal vocational school centres, primarily in Dresden.

Commercial trainees gain work experience in various administrative offices, for example materials management, production management, personnel management, marketing and accounting. The Koenig & Bauer subsidiary Albert-Frankenthal GmbH manufactures core components for Koenig & Bauer presses. It concentrates above all on the manufacturing of parts which place the highest demands on precision and quality. The range of parts manufactured covers both prismatic and rotationally symmetrical parts.

Modern training facilities and qualified instructors and staff, all geared to the needs of new occupational profiles, enable Albert-Frankenthal GmbH to provide optimum preparation for the manifold challenges of your future career.

Koenig & Bauer (AT) is traditionally a committed provider of vocational training. The 1000th trainee to successfully complete training at Koenig & Bauer (AT) was already celebrated in 2006. In 2009, Koenig & Bauer (AT) received state recognition as an “Excellent training company”.
